Curations Of Love #1

Hey everyone! This is my very first post and I’m excited to start on this journey. I plan on posting small curations of art, readings, news, etc. weekly on Sundays. I call it the Curations of Love, because I believe everything has love in it, and it is the one thing that we all share as beings in the universe, and it connects everything together. With these curations, I hope to share pieces of work that might help increase your creativity, enhance your curiosity, or assist you on your journey, whether it’s your journey on self-love, career, relationships, or finding the meaning of the universe (like me!).

ART

This week I am sharing three paintings with you. I wanted all of us to welcome July with the most heartwarming summer landscape works. I do enjoy art because it allows me to see the world from someone else’s eyes, and that helps me understand this universe much better. Because what we experience is directly influenced by how our brain works, and we are all special with our genes, backgrounds, and past experiences. So here are three summer landscapes from different eyes.

1)A Summer Landscape, Georges Seurat,1883

2)Summer Day, Arnold Böcklin, 1881

3)Summer at Shinnecock Hills,William Merritt Chase, 1891

App

This week, in my first curation, I want to share an app that literally changed my life. It’s a completely free meditation app called Smiling Mind. Before I started using this app, I did not get how meditation can be life-changing. Now, I understand the simple happiness that comes with just listening and feeling my breath. I understand how we are gifted with the present moment (it is named the present for a reason) and it is the only thing that we actually have a hold on. I used to deal with lots of anxiety and stress, and don’t get me wrong, I still feel stressed from time to time but right now, I manage my stress and honestly, all of my emotions more easily. That’s why I want to include it in my first curation because I know that it could help lots of people who are struggling.

Books

I started reading more books this year, and I will share how with you on Wednesday. But now, I want to share some of my favorites this year so far.

1)Swann’s Way by Marcel Proust (À la recherche du temps perdu #1)

It’s the first book in the In Search Of Lost Times series. I started this book on the very first day of 2023, as I planned. Somehow, in my mind, I knew that this series would relieve my mind a little and be one of my comfort books. And damn, I was right. If you are in a stressful period of time and want a slow book with detailed descriptions of everything (and I really mean it, you’ll read how something smells or looks like for 3-4 pages), this book is for you. But really it is more than that. You will pay a visit to your core memories because it unravels the conception of time and memories so beautifully.

2)Icebreaker by Hannah Grace (Maple Hills #1)

Oh, I am on my knees for some good romance book. I do enjoy reading books written by women, what can I say. But this, this book was something different. Growing up with toxic relationships portrayed in Wattpad books, me and most people who were teenagers around 2015 were brainwashed into liking possessive, abusive partners. I came to the realization of that pretty late in my life and I must admit that they affected my personal relationships as well. But this book was somehow a breath of fresh air in romance; it was the first book I read in this category where communication and healthy relationships were valued. And the spice was just so good, it’s the first time I read scenes of asking consent in a romance book. And it made everything just better and spicier. I really enjoyed reading about two competitive athletes dating too, something not what I expected since most romance books don’t value women’s careers as much as they do the -billionaire- men’s. Overall, definitely give a shot to this book if you enjoy smutty romance books.

Thank You

Thank you for reading this very blog post of me. I am so excited to start this new chapter of my life. I hope that you enjoyed this curation and found something that might be inspiring to you. See you on Wednesday!
